I'd be interested in any success/failure stories about this technique. It may make sense to have a backup in a baggie in one's pocket, in case the carry-on items are confiscated.

Why do you not put it in your checked baggage and when you land, you simply use a bathroom directly outside of the baggage pickup location at your destination?
