Will Marriott remove points and nights retroactively?

I am in a sort of similar situation. I booked 4 nights for my mother at a FI. Since she was the one who would be staying and checking in, I made the reservation using my account, but changed the name of the guest staying to her name.

I didn't think I would get points or stay credit because I didn't stay and I didn't pay. But today, the 4 nights posted to my account and the points as well since my rewards number was attached when I made the original reservation. I hadn't expected the points to post at all from what I read previously. My mother doesn't care since she rarely stays in hotels.

I'm worried that Marriott will remove the credit from my accounts retroactively if they take a look at the reservation. Should I be expecting them to remove nights and points? Or was it a mistake on their part and it will stand?

I'm trying to make Gold and 4 extra nights would just mean 4 extra nights I'll be staying in a SPG property to get the bonuses instead of in Marriott.
