The cruise ship story was in the 90's when someone else was in power. I was on an Atlantis cruise there last Jan/Feb. Across the street from the dock is a small church were some protesters peacefully held signs. On the dock side, there were people telling us to ignore the idiots and welcoming us to the island. Once I left the dock area I didn't see or experience any kind of anti-gay behavior. In fact the people I dealt with were extremely friendly. YMMV
