Lightbulb Why Not WestJet To ONT?

As I waited for my baggage in Terminal 4 after flying US YEG-PHX-ONT (on time departures and early arrivals on all legs as well as U/G for me and for my companion/Ms. PunishedEdmontonian), I saw an Airport Helper/Worker (like the Stetson-wearing ones in YYC and the ones in YEG - although this one seemed to a paid employee) with her badge saying Ontario International Airport and I immediately thought how nice it would be to fly non-stop here from YEG and avoid the connection even with the service.

I also thought that this would be an ideal airport for daily non-stop service from YEG (or YYC or YWG or ...) as it is perfectly situated almost equi-distant from LAX and PSP and covenient to Disneyland and even SAN down I-15.

While I will be on the WestJet YEG-PSP on one of its first flights this fall (actually the 6th on November 9th ), I prefer ONT for its flexibility and also the fact we can stop at the Desert Hills Premium Factory Mall on the way into PSP to allow Ms. to shop before we get to El Paseo! ^

I'm sure that with proper marketing ONT could become a focus point for WestJet and they could kill a number of birds with the same stone.

Thoughts?
