DJ's usually work at night, after FedEx is closed. After the gig, it's time to pack up and get to the next city. How would FedEx be of any help there? The other options are VERY expensive.

-- Air Freight to the next city plus ground transport to the venue. What if the gear/media get delayed? No Show. Guaranteed delivery or your money back doesn't account for much when you can't perform without your package.

-- "HotShot" delivery services. Very expensive and not available in all cities.

-- Unsecured checked baggage. 'Nuff said.

Customs hassles are a concern, but only for international shipments.


I travel with gadgets that are an integral part of my job performance. Without them, I'm dead in the water. The dollar-cost of the items isn't nearly as important as the havoc created without them. Some things can be duplicated and easily replaced. Others can't. Imagine having to leapfrog 2 sets of everything on a daily basis. Weekends and Holidays Included.
