Thanks Mike. Surely I'll arrive early requesting the NW gate agent to fly up front. I am aware of the 'first come, first served' rule.

CO has a policy for upgrade precedence at the gate. I wonder whether NW has something alike.

CO pax 'on standby' for upgrade at the gate are upgraded based on the following ordering:
1 CO OnePass Platinum
2 NW or HP Platinum
3 CO OnePass Platinum companion
4 NW or HP Platinum companion
5 CO OnePass Gold
6 NW or HP Gold
7 CO OnePass Gold companion
8 NW or HP Gold companion
9 CO OnePass Silver
10 NW or HP Silver
11 Non-elites holding upgrade certificates
I have no idea how CO will fit in RoyalWing and SilverWing. The co-operation KL - CO just started.

Nevertheless, NW - KL co-operation is alive already for years. Most likely NW has some kind of policy regarding KL Royal Wing members flying NW, and getting upgrades on national flights.
