It's the same simple problem if you start charging "surcharges" for anything that's cost volatile - where will it all end? As stated earlier AC is advertising fares that are just not true, that's the issue.

AC has clearly recognized this as a great way of increasing revenue by raising fares without raising fares!!! Very sneaky indeed.

If it's fuel, they could just say, "sorry fuel costs are currently high and fares have gone up by 20% for the time being".....what's complicated about that?

And if AE must pay more for award seats then the cost of awards will rise. We've not had an increase in many years, though many are dreading what is ahead with the introduction of Dynamic Awards. A 60K award to Europe would likely go to 70K, and 80K to 90K.

I am sure you'd been happy to spend more of your AE miles...
