Well, since it is issued on AA stock (and they require a full reissue according to their rules - and the most restrictive rules apply to the entire itinerary with regards to that) - you got nothing to prove. As a matter of fact, by including AA, you made things worse and basically got yourself a whole set of additional restrictions and so on.

As for the why it's on AA stock and not AF stock - AA still pays a 1% commission that Expedia wanted to pocket. Their robot is very clever when it comes to that.

Since this is an agency issued ticket, you need to deal exclusively with Expedia before travel was started if things need to go by the book. And Expedia sure has to reissue with a non-refundable AA fare in the itinerary.

AF can sticker your ticket, but certainly not the AA part. Hence, AF will not sticker your ticket at all (except for a mileage upgrade).

All US airlines require a full reissue based on their CoC.

If your ticket includes a stopover in CDG, you can do that (= O next to Paris rather than X on your ticket). If you only have a connection ticketed, odds are slim to none from my perspective that someone will date change the ticket at all, since the addition of a stopover technically is a change in routing requiring a full reissue.
