A11 & A14 are both common-use gates utilized for international arrivals by CO and other carriers, as well as for domestic charters. As far as I know, CO does not use any other gates on A, except those two. The A gates were used for RJ flying before Concourse D opened.
I did not know A11 is also connected to the FIS. Is that a new thing -- at least, in the past few years? I remember about 10 years ago, when AA leased A14, that it used to be used for boarding and deplaning pax... and then, at some point, it became common use for ARRIVALS only (scaffolding went up and old opaque glass doors were removed). I suppose A11 could have been folded in to the FIS at that time? Does US still use A11 for its normal arrivals/departures?
