I would like to book and purchase a ticket for someone else, but enter my AAdvantage number. I tried on AA.com, logged in as me, but when I enter his name, with my AA number in the passenger name, it says that the name and AA number do not match. Is there a way to get around it, or am I asking for something unreasonable.


I seem to recall people doing this on Continental (although, they may have been traveling together on same reservation), but can I do this on American? Or am I being silly?
