though to be honest with ya, the lady at the gate didn't even verify the damage areas where i have marked on the checklist

the problem was that there was no damage on the car when I picked it up, nor was there damage when I returned the car, but Thrifty still wanted to claim that the damages occured during my rental period. I am sure that I didn't cause the damage (on the driver side door) because it would have been too obvious not to be noticed by myself or the return check-in person. my best guess is that another dropped-off car swiped the door later on while the car was waiting to be taken to for clean-up, and they decided to assign the damage to the last person who rented the car. which is why I always keep the damange check-list diagram (didn't before), and asked the return check-in person to sign and date it.
