Contact Lenses in Hand Baggage

Has anyone travelled yet with contact lenses in their hand baggage? What kind of treatment did BAA give you? Were you allowed to take their container with small amount of soaking solution?

I wear contacts and have to travel in them. I understand you can't carry solutions which is not a problem but I will need to carry the case they're stored in. By necessity this has a small amount of liquid to keep the lenses moist when stored. Cannot drink solution as it is hydrogen peroxide with neutraliser tablet, nor is there enough in container to drink.

According to link on ba.com if I can't drink the liquid I must go back to BA who will provide a staff member to accompany me to the pharmacist to confirm liquid I have no problem with this - though I'm sure BA staff won't be too thrilled - but will pharmacist know about lens solutions?

Lenses cannot be stored in regular water, though a saline solution could work.

Does anyone have experience of this since new security arrangements came in? Any suggestions greatly appreciated - though please don't suggest wearing glasses instead, as I cannot do this for longer than one hour due to migraines causing severe nausea.

Am travelling in CW on transatlantic route. Thanks
