I think to some extent this debate is like the debate about which is better, Piper or Cessna (with the answer being the one you learned to fly in is better )

I have had Palm devices since the second model made. I understand the OS. I have a conduit that synchs to my favorite PIM which I've been using for years.

I had a smartphone for a few months and hated it. But I think that's because, in part, I just didn't know the OS like I know Palm's.

I also had a Blackberry recent for a year. I liked it very much for email, but the rest of it was Greek to me, and I kept trying to get it to do things in the way that I would do things withe Palm OS.

My current Treo 650 with Cingular (actually, still managing to have an ATT Wireless plan, despite Cingular's hostage-taking of ATT customers. But that's another topic.....) is fantastic (and has ended my reputation as a cellphone Luddite).

It's my fourth or fifth Palm device and I love it.
