I just wanted to comment on tracking of baggage within UA. This is 90% a personnel issue. I fly frequently out of PVD via IAD. On a few occasions on my return home, I have paged by the baggage office as I am walking out of the gate area. The baggage agent has seen that my bag missed my flight, already has the delivery paperwork ready, and pro-actively apoligizes for the problem.

I have never seen this level of competence at any other airport. I wonder why?
