Ugh... I'm STILL getting over what happened on my flight on Saturday. UA947 IAD-LAX. We were delayed on the ground over an hour due to "late arriving bags". They had all 3 cargo doors opened on the 777 for a LONG time loading cargo and luggage.

I arrived on a LH flight FRA-IAD, claimed by bag and went through the ohorrendously long line to re-check it. From the time I dropped the bag off in front of the bag check machine to the time we took off, they had over 2 HOURS to get that bag from the bag check scanner to the plane, and it did NOT make it.

The worse part? My friend's bag who I was traveling with (but who was asked to drop their bag off at a different scanner) DID make the flight.

I was furious. Fortunately, since we were so delayed leaving IAD, I only had to wait 30 minutes for the next plane from IAD-LAX to arrive, which contained my bag.

Rediculously terrible service.
