I bought a ticket on Aeromexico using my Italian bank-based credit card. However, since the ticket was printed in the USA, the purchase price was in US $. The total was $2001.90 .The next day, however, life changed for me and I had to cancel that ticket and buy a different ticket going someplace else completely different on a different airline. Tickets printed by travel agents can be voided within 1 business day. This is precisely what was done. The ticket was voided and never reported to AM as a sold ticket. I just received my credit card statement. It shows that $2001.90 was charged on 20Jul. Then $1973.67 returned to my card. Apparently, the Italian bank used the next days exchange rate to calculate this. The ticket was never supposed to be reported. This is crazy. Now, I have to pay $27 for a ticket I never flew on and was voided out of the system. $27 for nothing. Now, that is a new one for me.
