I think I will still fly on UA totally - obviously unless going to a destination they dont serve. For me, it seems worth it with the bonus you get once you already have elite status. I would feel like I could have gotten a better deal (at least in my mind) if I was to fly to an airline where I didn't earn bonus RDMs ect. I love flying an airplanes, so "extra flying" just means more fun.

Further, as much as I know United isn't the best airline in the world, as someone pointed out (sorry, I cannot remember who!) in their comparison of UA Business class vs SQ Business class, sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you dont. At least with United, I know what I am in for on the plane. Trying other carriers (especially ones you have heard great things about) can lead to disappointment (as it did with me on SQ - although I admit it is probably b/c it was so played up in my head...)

So yes, United all the way for me for the rest of the year - if the trip is superfluous or not!
