A couple of eyars ago i has a family member upgraded by a n Ftalker.on checkin he was told that someone had called and requested a downbgrade on the return-
yeah right

a name no one had every heard of had requested it-
how dare they just take an anonymous call and downgrade with out a confirmation from the pax or the 1k member upgrading him
. so then he had to go on the list for the returns upgrade.
it was sweating time till checkin as he would never have travelled UA if the upgrades had not been confirmed -he would have take his chances on qantas.
Ua is also demanding letters from 1k sponsors upgrading other people here in OZ
I am sure its not that way anywhere else.
I had a friend downgraded at the gate the other day as he didnt have a letter of confirmation till I called and screamed and got him on the J seat.
I had done the upgrade myself on the net as I was told to do by UA ,
I have 4 more upgrades to do and am now being told that they have to have a letter and ID faxed to the office before the upgrade can even be requested. has anyone else heard of this lately?
