Very classy. Park-view executive rooms, or whatever they call them, are large, with a divider (and rotating TV) separating sleeping from sitting area. You really won't need a suite if you have one of these rooms.
LARGE bathroom with hugh shower area plus tub, and large closet.
Restaurant/bar does a nice evening business. As a diamond, was comped on continental breakfast, which was excellent. They make their own muselli/granola, and easily the best I've ever had. Coffee was freshly brewed from a combo coffe/espresso machine, and was superb.
Fitness center wasn't done, but they use the one for their apartments, right next door. Very nice.
All the
employees were superb.
I had a
special rate, but at full boat, they are in tough competition with two RCs, an FS, and the Fairmont and Westin across the street.
Negatives: Regular rooms are
small. Rooms in the back of the hotel overlook the air conditioning units and an office building inner courtyard. Very depressing. Couple of floors still being worked on. No radios or clocks in the rooms (they're on order). No chocolates on the bed after turndown service.
No regency club (is this standard at Park Hyatts??)
Would I stay there again? Well, I'm in DC a lot, and the hotel is certainly first rate, but no, not at these rates.
[To put this in perspective, I travel on government rates, so this hotel was a big splurge. I usually stay at the Hilton Embassy Row, certainly not in the same category as the Park Hyatt, but oddly, the "executive suites" are very similar in size/furnishings, and as a Hilton Gold am treated well.]
