This is a great area of Australia, you will love it, stunning coastlines, jaw dropping scenery with that harsh sun burnt country contrast. They have an incredible festival November 16-19, (mrwinefest.org.au/2006) good bases to use other than MR, are Busselton or Dunsborough. We make chocolates but I think MR's are better, well maybe just as good. Wine is everywhere and they are generous with their tastings and will freight it home for you. I always say to my overseas friends to buy what they like, it's just a drink, and it's important when they open a bottle at home, it's to their taste. After BKK you will be ok for our roads, hire yourself a car and get lost every now and then, we drive on the left like you, but we believe the red light mean stop and we wear seat belts.
