Yesterday at a FHR we were told that the special amenity came with Plat not Cent (???) and when I called Cent they were pretty blase.
I'm pretty frustrated. The Starwood Plat was the main bene.
My Cent. concierge service started out great (I've only had the card a little over a month). But the last 1.5 weeks have been a nightmare. I called my concierge last Wednesday 8/9, because I figured I'd try out their "locate anything" service that they rave about. I have a watch that's not working anymore, and have been looking for a couple of years to replace. It's a Longines... I figured I'd give it a try. She told me that she would refer it to a specialist, who would contact me by 8/11 at the latest to either update me or get more information from me. It's now almost 8/20 and not a phone call or e-mail.
Thursday, I realized that I needed breakfast reservations at the Salish Lodge and Spa near Seattle on Sunday. I figured they should be able to do something as it is even in an FHR hotel. I couldn't reach my concierge, so I took the first available. They guy was really confused, and I needed to spell it a bunch of times. He had me on hold for over 12 minutes. He then came back to tell me that they don't take reservations, and that you just "walk in". I know this isn't true. I hung up with him, and called the hotel, and in a 43 second phone call I confirmed that you must make reservations, and they would not give me one as you need at least 2 weeks in advance. I called concierge back and just asked the first person to speak with a supervisor. I wanted to report both the mishap with the last guy as well as the promised contact which I never received regarding the watch. She put me on hold for a while and came back and said that all of the supervisors were tied up and that she would try to get someone to get back to me within 24 hours. I told her that if someone didn't get back to me "by this evening" I would be "very disappointed." Needless to say, not only did I not receive a call back Thursday evening, but not on Friday or Saturday either.
I had been so impressed over the first couple of weeks, too.
P.S. Today I called Cent. *travel* and asked if *they* could give the Salish a call using their own connections and try to get me in for breakfast tomorrow. At first she refused to do it because it is the concierges' jobs to do that, but after I made her listen to my complaints about Thursday, she agreed to give it a try. SHE SUCCEEDED.
