FUK (Fukuoka Japan) turnaround on SQ

No OLCI, no return check in possible. Airport has int->int transfer security, but is not set up to handle int->int transfers very well. No international transfer desk and lounge is operated by NH. Therefore no way to check in airside (or before arriving at FUK) and have to clear immigration, check in and back through security and immigration. Scheduled transit is 2 1/2 hours - long enough to do the shuffle. Immigration took an hour (only 1 agent for all non-Japanese on the 3 early morning arriving flights). Bag searched and questioned by customs.

SQ sent someone to check on me ^ after I'd waited nearly an hour at immigration. They also assisted with escort to bypass queues at check in counters (pre-screening), security and immigration ^ - although the escort may have had more to do with my status than assisting with the turnaround.
