Question Car trip thru unfamiliar territory:hints to avoid roadtrip discrimination...or worse.
My partner and I are embarking on a 7 day road trip from Seattle to Laredo Texas through Idaho, Utah, New Mexico. We have reservations at mostly small town Holiday Inn Express'. I don't know why...perhaps it is just a bout of paranoia.....but I was wondering if we should be concerned or extra cautious as we make this journey on the backroads of the US. We are fairly low-key and have travelled the world....but not in a car through these western States.....

Any hints?
