I confused the India call center by asking them why UA took a regional upgrade from me for a flight between SFO and LAS. The nice man didn't understand the little issue of this being a TED flight and thus no F class (not to mention why on earth anyone would burn a regional for 500 miles). After telling me to call the MP line - because "they could help me understand the problem with my request" I thanked the nice man and called the the line. The nice lady at the MP line then told me to speak with 1K line - but did see the humor in me losing a Regional Upgrade to TED (he's getting back at me for the last 2 years of insults). Spoke with 1k line two weeks ago, this agent also saw the humor in TED stealing an upgrade from me and promised to submit the paperwork to return my Regional. Haven't seen that puppy yet. So, while I do agree with United Skies on not prejudging any person, I do have to agree with other flyers on UA that make it a point to stress how the call centers are poorly trained and are going to cost the airline several good customers.
