Having checked the T&C's prior to my domestic flight this evening it seems that domestic flights are covered as well as international ones.
Yes The same thing happend to me a few years back, however on this ocasion it is a Miles booking , so would not be covered. ( Also the Amex baggage delay is only covered outbound).
