I've been away while launching an internet business and now spend all my on-line time doing business development and customer support. It's amazing; you go away for a few months, come back and...wow, nothing here has changed! Still the same hoary posters dominate every thread. But perhaps this is simply CO's disdain for me talking. (I'm close to jumping ship, a la you.) Anyway, like you, I don't like the fact anyone can pick exit row seats. After all, I didn't scrape and claw may way to Platinum only to see those filthy, low-life Silvers and Golds get the same perks I do! Oh, the injustice of it!


Thank you, OptionsCLE. Welcome to the forum...where no newbie goes unpunished. (I still have the paddle marks on my rear end from my initiation.) Anyhow, if you read my post, you will see that I did not have to "request" an exit row seat. I was able to choose it on-line at booking time. (Yes, I know all seat assignments are technically a request, since Continental can throw your butt out of it anytime they like. And Continental is so wont to abuse their passengers. It seems the better they do financially, the worse they treat us. Can you tell I'm bitter?) Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'd be even snootier to you, were you not a fellow CLE. Lucky you.
