I (as a passenger) am the primary reason that the airport exists - take away the passengers and you have no need for any of the other things (such as BAA's safety management etc.)
I (as a passenger) find the aforementioned facilities to be lacking at LHR, and the place to be shabby and malfunctioning. At the same time, I see the profits BAA make - literally, in my bank account as dividends (until Ferrovial forced the sale of my shares!) which wouldn't happen if they were cash-strapped.
Perhaps it's time for BAA to look at how badly they're delivering "front of house" facilities to their customer, after years of underinvestment.
