Yes, that will have played it's part. Watching what the other airlines and the BAA were doing it was clear that most of the BA staff and management had fairly recent experience and were better at predicting customer needs and controlling the crowds so that there was some kind of order. I take no pride in how we have earned that experience, but I am glad that we were able to use it to mitigate the effects of something beyond our control. The majority of BA staff were really hoping that this was going to be the first summer for a few years without any kind of major disruption for customers, sadly that is not the case, and I think that we are more disappointed than the passengers!
