It's been a while since Steve's post. I used the kiosk a couple months ago at Crystal City. I was able to choose the 1k points was one of the Diamond Amenity choices directly on the kiosk. But the machine didn't issue any breakfast coupons (no RC at CC), so I had to go to the counter to get one. When I told them I used the kiosk, the front desk personnel were all excited and wanted to know what I choose for my ammenity. I think the machine was fairly new, and they said they were curious if it actually worked and that I would get my ammenity without their intervention. They seemed disappointed when I told them I took the points.
A couple weeks ago at Scottsdale, instead of being able to choose the amenity on the machine, I got a screen that said "you have a text message" and asked if I wanted it printed. I touched "Yes" and the machine spat out a piece of paper saying I had to go to the front desk to choose my amenity.
