DH-

In theory the coupons are for Hawaiian residents use only. In practice it is rarely enforced. They can be bought from local TA, Aloha or Hawaiian Airlines directly (usually in packs of 4-12), or from the Bank of Hawaii ATM machines. Cost is cheapest from TA and it varies among them. Pay cash and you always pay less. Call around. Cheapest I found today was $56.00. Probably $58 at B of H ATM's.

For those not here in Aloha-land, you can call the HA 800 number from abroad and say you wish to make an inter-island reservation using a coupon. If they ask "what type?" say "YOW". Be certain to give them your CO or NW freq flyer number. Interestingly enough, YOW is one of the highest priorities in the reduced fare bucket.

Make your reservation and upon arrival go to one of the many B of H ATM in the airport and buy your coupon(s). You fill them out with a pen with the your name, flight, time etc. One downside of not having the coupon in-hand in the 48 is you can only check baggage to (usually) HNL. If you have a coupon AND HA reservation you can check baggage to where you are going to with the coupon. Of course, this is CLASSIFIED INFORMATION for FT members-in-good-standing only. Repeat, do not repeat this to anyone and enjoy the wonderful islands. Aloha!!
