Mary Schiavo is a loudmouth former head of the FAA; she's a very whiny, shrill critic of reasonable security. Type her name into Google and you'll have enough reading for a month.

You may NOT take bottled water thru the checkpoint and you may NOT take it to the plane even if you buy it at the gate. Ridiculous, I know, but that's the stupid rules under which we now must toil.
