I followed with great interes that incident and the NEXT day Ryanair made a complete explanation of what happened , and not only that, but the plane was inmovilized for investigation .
Resulted that the pilot, following a visual aproach , confused the derry airport runaway with the runaway of a close military airport only 5 miles away . The pilot was the solely responsable , not the aircraft equipment or ATC .
Ryanair provided ALL the details , despite been a plane operated by Eirjet on behalf of Ryanair .
It's interesting the comparison between the quick and FULL response of the Ryanair incident in march , with the SECRECY in wich SAS is treating this incident .
In Spanair case the plane landed not 5 miles but 400 miles away
As you can see in this map the distances between SCQ and SVQ are big ...

Ryanair made the correct thing and clarified all the next day ....
.. with Spanair 2 weeks .. and counting ...
