Bonus for delayed flight
On August 4 (before all the new security hassles) our 11:30 PM flight from JFK to LHR finally left at 3:30AM. (The plane was late coming in from London). Once on the runway it sat for another 15-20 minutes--the control tower lost power temporarily. When we finally got to London the plane was almost ready to land when it suddenly took off again and we circled around for another 15-20 minutes.
I just saw that AA gave us 9,000 "customer service" miles for all this trouble. At least they recognize their obligation to provide on-time service. However, I wonder if they did anything for the non-FFs who were subject to the same delay...
