People are so quick to criticize the press when they don't get every little jot and tittle correct when writing about airplanes, but keep in mind this guy isn't even an aviation reporter. He's a City Hall reporter who just happened to be on the flight. As such, he's probably representative of the general traveling public. I think his column probably reflects the feelings of many on that flight: confusion, fear, anger, relief, annoyance.
I recognise that I reacted very strongly to Mr Bartley's article, I'm very passionate about my job.

Don't you think that before going ahead and publishing such a rant, as a journalist, he should have informed himself?

Confusion, fear, anger, relief and annoyance are ligitimate emotions in such a situation. But should a journalist write a piece intended to inform under the influence of any of these? Mr Bartley could have simply reported the chain of events and then related what his emotions were during and after going through this event. Instead he speculates and takes a cheap shot at the crew and ridicules them.

The general public is very demanding when travelling by plane, well as a reader of the press I demand factual reports and accuracy. If I want comedy, I go to the theater or pick up a comic book.
