Cur is right AND the flight attendant's voice must be heard over everyone else. Asking people to deplane in a normal voice with not be heard past the first row or two. Flight attendants train extensively with their commands to ensure the aircraft is evacuated as quickly as possible. Some people have the tendency to "freeze" in high stress situations and the directive commands are used to give clear and concise directions.
