When I was in South Africa and had to make a change to my award and couldn't call the 800-number using my AT&T calling card I called the AA reservations in Peru instead. Yesterday I called UA reservations in Brazil when the Hong Kong office was closed.

I have always been positively surprised how good agents the airlines have working at their reservations oversees.
