I gather there is no specific Santorini hotel catering to the GLBT crowd.

I arrive in Santorini on Thursday, 9/28/06 staying 4 nights til 10/2/06.

As my plans are relatively tentative, I am hesitant to make firm hotel reservations and/or ferry reservations (there is a big hassle cancelling). The ferries have a capacity of over 1,000 people and I can’t imagine that @ that time of year, they would be oversold. Wrong?

Also, when traveling on the ferries, what is the difference between basic economy, glorified economy and business class? I don’t think that I will be seated very much as I will want to take it the views but perhaps I am missing something.

Your thoughts on afternoon ferries or those which depart @ the crack of dawn?

Finally, am considering an overnight stay in Hydra. Your counsel?

In advance, I appreciate any shared words of wisdom.
Santorini and Hydra are both lovely, especially at that time of year, after the crowds die down. If you can stay close in to Fira town you will be well located. If you can possibly afford to fly interisland, I can't recommend it enough. The ferries take an awfully long time and you are at the mercy of the sometimes rough waters.
