Yes, you will get credit for both rooms. You can get credit for up to three rooms per the rules.

Also, in my experience, you can reserve a room in your name and add your colleague's name to the reservation using your MR #. Be sure that you have your colleague provide the credit card info, for your reservation or have him provide his CC info. at checkin. Upon checkout, fax a letter to the hotel requesting a copy of the folio with your colleague's name on it. See if the folio contains your MR # info. on it. If it does, the points for this stay should post to your account. If it doesn't usually, I would fax a copy of my confirmation along with the folio to MR and the points would post within 2-3 days.
