Is it ok? NO! AAdvantage T&Cs specifically forbid this practice. If caught, the passenger looses the ticket and the seller may loose the FF account. Could it be done? It probably happens every day.

Aha, you may be on to something, though given the OP's date/posts he shouldn't have any trouble posting this in the forum where that's discussed more out in the open.
And of course the first two words of the title are "miles expiring" which makes little sense, unless there's some oddball situation (TWA?) that I just can't get my head around.
But the oddest of all is that a 60k award is for coach, and fares to the UK ex-most cities in the US should be non-"astronomical" enough to make some complicated miles purchase totally unnecessary.
Something seems to be off with this scenario. But it should be noted that AA miles don't expire unless you're pretty out of it.
