After 9 years in ATL, considering a move to SFO so this will be an apt/house hunting expedition for me and bf. Would love to talk to some SFO locals about the area.
^^ for the MO.

for SFO (the city).
You'll be arriving in town just in time for Folsom Street Fair. I'm flying out the night before and will spend Saturday kicking around town before kicking up my heels at the Magnitude event Saturday night. Leather's not my thing, but once a year, why not? The fair itself is on Sunday, though it gets mixed reviews inasmuch as some people think suburbanites have invaded and caused the event to lose its edge. I'll be heading back to ATL on Sunday afternoon, skipping the fair.
Get ready for some REAL sticker shock comparing housing prices from Atlanta to San Francisco. The Castro is very expensive, and nearby Noe Valley is up there. You might consider loftish space in SoMa or trying to find a gem on certain streets of the Western Addition or maybe the Fillmore District. The area around Duboce Park is somewhat transitional but definitely has some quality properties that should be more affordable than those in the heart of Castro. Believe it or not, you can find some good and no-outrageous places on Nob Hill, especially the Van Ness side. And remember, parking is a real hassle in San Francisco.
