Its fine if you dont bring liquid into work, but a lot of us do (did). Having ones tools strewn accross the security check point, having the company van blocking the security search while being quizzed as to why we have screwdrivers or knives in our possesion etc etc....
thats what makes it bad enough. I'm not after sympathy - I commute to work by air so would just like to compare the pax line security with staff line security.
As an airport worker, it makes a joke of the disclosure checks and the long winded process of getting an airside permit.
When working in Germany last year, we parked our personal car at the hangar, picked up the airside van and drove to the terminal...no further security checks needed because the government already declared we were trust worthy to work in that environment.
Touch wood, we never hear of problems in German Airports that much do we?
