After 10 minutes on hold, a very nice young man answered, took all of my name and contact information and asked what he could do to help me. I asked him what the curret, right now restrictions were specifically pertaining to removal of shoes at the security checkpoint.

His reply was almost verbatim what was is on the web site. "Sir, you don't have to remove your shoes but you may be encouraged to do so. What may happen if you don't is that you may be subject to additional screening or delays.".......
