I understand from news reports that shoe removal is now mandatory. Internal communications at TSA has never been a bright spot. This may be a good example of IT not being notified to change the web site and phone drones not being updated on the change in policy.

Yesterday I agreed to take my shoes off in Secondary if I could sit on the chair. The TSA folks had no issue with that. They were quite agreeable and swabed and x-rayed my shoes.
