Stayed for the first time at the Westin - Sydney, normaly stay at the intercontinental. Used the Gym ( run by an external agency) and paid AU$ 25. . Was told only Plats were exempt and I am lowly gold. I'm sure this is covered somewhere in the terms and consitions but in most hotels across Asia where I have stayed, never had to pay this fee.

Normal for Starwood in Asia? Any ideas. I am new to Starwood and thus the question. Have stayed at the Westin KL, Le Meredien- Bangkok and and Westin -Bangkok and havent been charged.
