While there have been reports here on FT of exceptions to the general point earning rules, those are rare and I would not count on that happening. The rules are found here on Marriott.com.

Regarding using your number for another's stay, in the past this has worked, but they plugged that hole last summer. It probably will not work now. Perhaps your coworker could get his own MR # and get some of the benefits of his time on the road?
