re-booking, refund and excess baggage policy for any passengers travelling 10th August 2006

bmi, London Heathrow’s second biggest operator, has implemented the following policies for passengers affected by today’s events:

re-booking

Due to the disruption at UK airports today, the following policy changes will apply for all bmi passengers booked and ticketed to travel on 10 August 2006 regardless of fare type.
All re-bookings must be made within 14 days (by 24 August).

Re-booking will be permitted with no change fee applied for outbound travel on or before 24 August 2006 subject to availability in the same cabin as originally booked.

For journeys booked after 24 August and up to and including 30 November, passengers can re-book with no change fee applied subject to the original booking class being available.

refunds

Due to the disruption at UK airports today, the following policy changes will apply for all bmi passengers booked and ticketed to travel on 10 August 2006.
Refunds will be permitted for booked and ticketed sectors for travel on 10 August 2006.

excess baggage

Excess baggage charges on short haul routes will be waived today.
On long haul routes, baggage allowances will be increased today to accommodate the requirement to check-in cabin baggage by the cabin baggage allowance related to the fare.
