The crew most certainly can control the cabin temperature within a certain range on the A345. The cockpit crew has control over an even greater temperature range.

The problem you encountered, IMHO, is that the Thai crew, used to living in a very warm environment, were comfortable and didn't want to lower the temperature because they would then be cold. I generally find the cabin too warm on TG flights.

Ask to speak to the purser.
