Thought I'd report back on our trip. We flew ORD-->JFK-->MAN-->JFK-->ORD. The morning of our trip, I called Delta to check flight status. For the domestic leg, I used the automated system--flight on time. When I entered the flight number for the international leg, it connected me with an operator. After confirming everything was on time, I inquired about moving our seat assignments from an exit row to the front of the plane. To my astonishment, the Delta rep immediately informed me that two seats in row 5 were available! Then she said the same seats (5c/d, I think) were available for the return flight as well, and asked if we wanted them. Of course I said 'yes!' I was a little worried at first when she said that the seats were an aisle and a middle, but then remembered reading on another thread about the incorrect seating chart.

We greatly enjoyed the IFE and the extra room. As a side note, we were also plesantly surprised with the food.

Thanks again for the advice!
