The point being they have already inconvenienced you by not having a cardboard box and wouldn't want to bother you with an id check.

I have been in 5 CRC's during the last 2 weeks and they have always requesting my boarding pass and my CRC membership card which in my case is my Amex Platinum CC. I do not believe that a GM's Skymiles card will ever pass muster at any CRC.
