most of the lunch places and cafes i frequent offer free wifi. so does the kerry center (both office building and hotel); the hotel is a good place to hold meetings, for this reason.

as for hotels, i know the marriott palm springs offers free broadband (but, this won't help you much, i guess).

internet cafes aren't quite as common any more --there was a crackdown around 3 years ago due to an alleged fire-- but, they're still around and are quite cheap.
